Dear Professors and TAs,
With the semester coming to a close, this issue of our newsletter will show you how to quickly enter your “final grades” on COOL. If you usually use COOL in the following two ways, check out our step-by-step guide, we hope this will help everyone save valuable time!
Please note: The following instructions are ONLY for teachers and TAs to record grades in the Gradebook, and are NOT the procedure for submitting semester grades to the NTU Online Grade Reporting System.
【Scenario 1】
You usually enter grades on COOL, but only for students to view during the semester. Assignment Group Weights are not entered into the COOL system and you DO NOT use its automated calculation function. The final grade is announced separately.
【Scenario 2】
You normally don’t enter grades on COOL and ONLY wish to post the final grade on COOL.
Quick Guide
▶ First, create a NEW assignment specifically for entering final grade, and input the scores.
▶▶ Then set the assignment weight so that the score for this assignment equals the final grade, and you’re done!
~ Follow the Detailed Steps Below ~
1️⃣ In Gradebook(Beta), create a new assignment named “Final Grade”, and enter scores directly or use the export/import function.
2️⃣ In the Assignments page, set the assignment weights so that the “Final Grade” assignment accounts for 100% of the course grade.
You will need to create two assignment groups:
Place all other assignments from the semester into this group.
Place the “Final Grade” assignment into this group.
P.S. For instructions on setting assignment group weights, please refer to the section “How to set the percentage weights for each group.”
~ And that’s it — you’ve easily recorded your final grades on COOL! ~
