⚠ 4 Things You NEED to Know ⚠

❓What types of notifications will I definitely receive (and can’t turn off)?

When you are added to a course, the system will immediately send you a Course Invitation.

You will also receive instant notifications whenever the teacher or TA posts a Course Announcement or sends you a Message—

these system notifications are automatic and CAN’T be turned off manually.

❓COOL will automatically notify me about assignments, quizzes, and grades… right?

Nope! Only notifications related to "grade release" will be sent to students daily by default in summary form.

If you want to receive any notifications related to "assignments" or "quizzes" (such as new assignments or quizzes, changes to assignment deadlines, or updates to assignment instructions),
please make sure to turn on the notification bells for Due Date and Course Content!

❓How can I customize my personal notification settings to match my preferences?

Go to NTU COOL > Account (on the left) > Notifications

You can customize settings for your entire account or for individual courses.

Notifications for things like course updates, discussion threads, inbox, calendar events, etc., can all be adjusted.

Click the bell icon to enable notifications, and even choose how often you want to receive them!⬇️

❓How often will I get notified?

Whether you’re a “ping me ASAP” or a “please don’t disturb” type,
there’s a perfect frequency for you! Choose from:

Notify immediately
Daily summary
Weekly summary
Notifications off
