GMBA Application 2019

On 13th Jan, we have held another GMBA Info Session. For all the 2 sessions, we have more than 200 sign-ups and totally 127 participants. This is a good starting and this is also a surprise we have around 10% of the participants who are international students.

Word of mouth is always important, so I would be more than appreciated if you may help to spread that our new student application is now kicked-off!

International Students: Now to 5th Mar 2019
Local Taiwanese Students: 22nd Feb 2019 to 8th Mar 2019

Study Abroad Trip

After last year’s successful study trip to Hangzhou China, our destination this year is Singapore. Within 3.5 days (Jan. 20-24), our students and faculty members from 14 different countries visited Port of Singapore (logistics/ transshipment), Singapore Management University (business education), Rolls-Royce (engine manufacturing and service), Grab (sharing economy), Delta Research Center at Nanyang Technological University (Industry 4.0), Twitter (social networking), Sea (e-commerce & gaming), and WingsOverAsia (private jets operations). In additional to oral and video presentations, HR managers from the visited companies also shared hiring and recruiting information. (Twitter actually arranged interviews with five of our students right after the study trip.) Company visits were scheduled during daytime while debriefing sessions were arranged in the evening where students and professors discussed what they learned from the visits. This study trip course exemplifies many of the innovative teaching methods used by NTU GMBA – a very fulfilling experiential learning experience.

GMBA Love Stories

Love is in the air! In Feb, we have Valentine’s Day and also Chinese Valentine’s Day, let me tell you some GMBA love stories! I would like to introduce 2 couples to you, and they are all GMBAers.

Ya-Ching Tseng and Gordan Chen, both Class of 2018

Anna Tenkanan and Henry Hsiao, both Class of 2013

Of course we have a lot more love stories, but some would like to keep low profile, some shacked up and some is buying a ring… Love stories not only happened in between GMBAers, but also with course TAs, and other NTU students. I cannot name them out, but, you know who they are!

GMBA Alumni Interview, Letsiwe Edwards,

Class of 2019

Brief Introduction of Letsiwe Edwards

Letsiwe, student from Swaziland and also one of the first students who finish GMBA within ONE year.  She is a driven mother of two with a zest for life, and a keen interest in travelling and experiencing new cultures. Since graduating from the GMBA, she has immersed herself in her new job, as well as spending time with family.

1.  When and why do you think you need an MBA degree?  And among all the MBA degrees in the world, why did you choose Taiwan?

As a manager at KPMG, I was aware that an MBA would provide a more rounded perspective to running a business. So in 2017 after working as a senior manager for a year, my job had become somewhat monotonous and I started to yearn for new exposure. I felt that an MBA would provide a good bridge between my current career in consulting, and the career I sought in operations and general management.
I chose Taiwan as it was a country which provided endless opportunities for new exposure in a relatively safe environment. The local and regional ranking of NTU, and relatively affordable fees in comparison to other programs were also major considerations. I had also never been to Asia before, so it all just seemed like a good idea at the time. It turned out to be a decision I will never regret making!
