Last Friday, September 26, we were honored to welcome students from Waseda University to the NTU Department of Economics for an exchange event. The day began with a campus tour, where our guests explored some of NTU’s most iconic spots and learned more about student life here.
The program then continued with a presentation and group discussion on the timely topic of the economic impact of Trump-era tariffs and U.S.–China decoupling. Both NTU and Waseda students shared their insights, compared perspectives, and engaged in thought-provoking conversations that reflected the importance of global cooperation and understanding in economics.
Beyond academics, the event was also a wonderful chance to build friendships across cultures. Students had the opportunity to interact more casually, exchange experiences, and get to know each other better.
We are grateful for this opportunity to host Waseda University and look forward to more events that connect students internationally, fostering not only academic dialogue but also lasting friendships.
