2nd Internation Conference on East-West Perpectives on Functional Foods Science,Innovations and Claims

       The International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) - Southeast Asia Region branch will organize the 2nd International Conference on East-West Perspectives on Functional Foods:  Science, Innovations and Claims.  This two-and-a-half day conference to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from November 5-7, 2007 will highlight recent advances, emerging trends and discoveries of functional components in foods; identify the newly recognized health benefits of functional foods and ingredients and their scientific substantiation, with particular focus on those unique to Asia.  The conference will also examine the latest global and regional regulatory developments for health, nutrients or other functional claims relating to foods and will consider the consumers' perspectives with regard to their needs and expectations.

       There will be poster presentations to complement the conference plenary sessions.  Researchers are encouraged to submit abstracts which should cover the latest scientific research on functional foods, in line with the conference theme and session topics.
