試用資料庫: British Literary Manuscripts Online 等四種資料庫
一、資料庫簡介
1. British Literary Manuscripts Online包含「1660-1900年」與「中世紀與文藝復興時期」兩大階段的文獻，涵蓋英國文學橫跨七個世紀的手稿紀錄。此資料庫將過往僅能透過微縮膠片或親赴來源圖書館查閱的原始手稿數位化，提供逐頁瀏覽，及利用縮圖預覽作品架構之功能。
2. British Library Newspapers, Part VI: Ireland, 1783-1950收錄 1783 年至 1950 年間的愛爾蘭報紙，呈現不同於英國主流日報的多元觀點。文獻內容記錄愛爾蘭形成時期的多項歷史事件，有助於研究者探索與分析相關事件的歷史背景、演變過程及其影響。
3. Nineteenth Century U.S. Newspapers收錄19世紀美國各地城市與鄉村地區出版的報紙資料，記錄了關於國家和地方事件的新聞與資訊，包括新聞報導、廣告、社論與圖像，涵蓋主題包含19世紀美國內戰、非裔美國人的文化與歷史、西部移民、南北戰爭前的社會樣貌等，呈現當時重大事件與日常生活的多元面貌，是研究美國歷史的資料來源。
4. Nineteenth Century UK Periodicals收錄19世紀英國及其殖民地的期刊數位典藏，分「女性、兒童、幽默與休閒」與「帝國」兩主題，取材自大英圖書館等機構，呈現維多利亞時代與浪漫主義時期的社會生活、女性權利、帝國擴張及文化傳播等主題。

試用限制：試用期間只能閱覽，無法下載檔案。

Database trial: British Literary Manuscripts Online & 3 other databases
1. Description
(1) British Literary Manuscripts Online comprises two major phases: "1660-1900" and "The Medieval and Renaissance Periods," spanning seven centuries of British literary manuscript records. This database digitalizes original manuscripts that were previously accessible only via microfilm or by visiting source libraries in person. It offers page-by-page browsing and allows users to preview work structures using thumbnail views.
(2) British Library Newspapers, Part VI: Ireland, 1783-1950 collects Irish newspapers from 1783 to 1950, presenting diverse perspectives distinct from mainstream British dailies. The content documents multiple historical events during Ireland's formative period, helping researchers explore and analyze the historical backgrounds, developments, and impacts of these events.
(3) Nineteenth Century U.S. Newspapers compiles newspapers published across urban and rural America during the 19th century. It records news and information on national and local events, including news reports, advertisements, editorials, and illustrations. Covering themes such as the American Civil War, African American culture and history, western migration, and antebellum society, it portrays the multi-faceted reality of major historical events and daily life, serving as a resource for researching American history..
(4) Nineteenth Century UK Periodicals features a digital archive of 19th-century periodicals from the UK and its colonies, divided into two themes: "Women, Children, Humour, and Leisure" and "Empire." Sourced from institutions like the British Library, it showcases social life, women's rights, imperial expansion, and cultural dissemination during the Victorian and Romantic eras.

Trial Restrictions: View-only access during the trial period; downloading files is not available.
2. Accessing the database
(1) Please go to the NTU Library Homepage and click “Search & Find”→ “E-resources”→ “Databases”→ “Trial”. And then click the link of the database you want to access in the trial list. To access trial databases from off-campus, please set up NTU SSL VPN.
(2) Please follow the terms and conditions in the database providers’ license agreements.
