[公告] EBSCO電子書離線閱讀系統升級說明
一、 轉換背景與原因
為了提供讀者更簡化、直覺且不受特定供應商限制的下載體驗，EBSCO電子書將版權管理技術(DRM)升級為國際通用的Readium LCP DRM。此項升級旨在解決傳統Adobe Digital Editions (ADE)流程複雜及系統相容性等問題，讓跨平台借閱更加順暢。
二、 轉換作業時程
本館預計於下列時間點啟用新系統：
l 正式生效日期：2026 年 4 月 14 日
l 影響範圍：下載電子書離線閱讀時所使用的閱讀軟體調整為Thorium Reader（免費軟體）
三、 使用者受到的影響與指引
如果您平時使用「線上閱讀」或「手機/平板 App」，您的使用習慣不會改變。
1. 線上閱讀：直接點選瀏覽器閱讀，無需安裝任何軟體。
2. 行動裝置：請持續使用或透過EBSCO Mobile App (支援 iOS/Android)，以在行動裝置上進行線上閱讀。
3. 電腦下載離線閱讀：若您需要下載電子書至電腦觀看，需改用 Thorium Reader（原ADE將不再支援新下載的書籍）。
四、 軟體安裝指引
若您需要在電腦（桌機或筆電）上閱讀下載的電子書，請依下列指引安裝軟體：
l 軟體名稱：Thorium Reader
l 適用系統：Windows 10+, macOS, Linux
l 下載連結：https://thorium.edrlab.org/
l 操作方式：安裝後，將從 EBSCO 下載的 EPUB 檔案匯入 Thorium Reader 即可開始閱讀。

Background & Rationale
To provide a more streamlined, user-friendly, and vendor-neutral downloading experience, EBSCO eBooks is upgrading its Digital Rights Management (DRM) to the internationally recognized Readium LCP. This transition aims to resolve the complexities and compatibility issues associated with the legacy Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) system.
Transition Timeline
Our library is scheduled to activate the new system on:
l Effective Date: April 14, 2026
l Scope: After this date, newly downloaded protected eBooks will require the new software.
Impact & User Guidelines
No changes are required if you read online or use the mobile app.
1. Online Reading: Read directly in your web browser; no software installation is required.
2. Mobile: Please continue to use the EBSCO Mobile App (available on iOS and Android) for online reading on your mobile devices.
3. PC/Mac Offline: If you need to download eBooks for offline viewing on a computer, you must switch to Thorium Reader (Adobe Digital Editions will no longer support newly downloaded titles).
Installation Guide
If you need to read downloaded eBooks on a computer, please follow these steps:
l Software: Thorium Reader (Available for Windows 10+, macOS, Linux)
l Download: https://thorium.edrlab.org/
l Instruction: After installation, simply import the downloaded EPUB file into Thorium Reader to begin reading.
