一、資料庫簡介
1. Asian Life in America Series 1-3收錄自1704年迄今，有關亞裔美國人（尤其是華人、日本人、韓國人、菲律賓人、南亞裔等）在美國的生活紀錄與歷史報導，反映其在移民、勞動、文化、種族關係與政策上的遭遇與貢獻。包含超過 3,500萬篇原始文獻，涵蓋報紙、期刊、政府文件、個人通信、照片及法庭紀錄、書籍等等。

2. Early American Newspapers: By Series 1-20 (1690-1922)涵蓋自1690 ~ 1922年的美國50州數千種報紙資源，匯集來自美國古文物學會(the American Antiquarian Society)、美國國會圖書館(Library of Congress)、威斯康辛歷史學會(Wisconsin Historical Society)及90多家機構的館藏，呈現美國社會、政治、文化與日常生活的變遷軌跡，是人文、社會科學與歷史研究的資源，分為20個報紙系列，可全文檢索並提供報紙影像。

3. San Francisco Chronicle (1869-2017)《舊金山紀事報》是北加州最大報紙，其內容跨越 19 世紀淘金熱至 21 世紀，涵蓋地方與全國性議題，如經濟、政治、科技與環境。此資料庫收錄 1869 至 2017 年的新聞與評論，呈現西岸社會百年來的重要發展與變遷。

4. ProQuest One History整合 ProQuest 的旗艦級歷史資源，涵蓋 1450 年至 21 世紀的全球頂級早期英語和早期歐洲書籍、小冊子和小冊子數位化館藏，以及從 17 世紀到 21 世紀的檔案館藏和歷史期刊。

Database trial: Asian Life in America & 3 other databases
1. Description
(1) Asian Life in America Series 1-3 includes records and reports on Asian Americans from 1704 to the present. It documents their experiences and contributions in immigration, labor, culture, race relations, and policy. The collection contains over 35 million primary sources, including newspapers, periodicals, government documents, personal letters, photographs, court records, and books.

(2) Early American Newspapers: By Series 1-20 (1690-1922) provides access to thousands of newspapers from all 50 U.S. states, covering the years 1690–1922. Drawn from the collections of the American Antiquarian Society, Library of Congress, Wisconsin Historical Society, and over 90 other institutions, it presents the evolution of American society, politics, culture, and daily life. Divided into 20 series, it offers full-text searching and page images for in-depth research.

(3) San Francisco Chronicle (1869-2017) The San Francisco Chronicle is the largest newspaper in Northern California, the second largest on the West Coast. Committed to coverage of subjects that are uniquely important: local issues and those topics with national impact such as economy, politics, technology and ecology, as well as breaking news, crime, education and national and foreign news.

(4) ProQuest One History consists of ProQuest’s historical primary source collections, featuring early modern books, archival and manuscript collections, historical periodicals, letters and diaries, and multimedia content. Spanning from 1450 to the 21st Century, ProQuest One History comprises includes the world’s digitized collection of Early English and Early European books, pamphlets and ephemera as well as archival collections and historical periodicals from the 17th century through the 21st century.

(1) Please go to the NTU Library Homepage and click “Search & Find”→ “E-resources”→ “Databases”→ “Trial”. And then click the link of the database you want to access in the trial list. To access trial databases from off-campus, please set up NTU SSL VPN.
