一、資料庫簡介
1. China and the Modern World提供兩個子庫試用：
(1) Diplomacy and Political Secrets, 1869–1950： 為大英圖書館收藏的「英國印度事務部檔案」中的檔案資料，來自於政治與機要部、緬甸辦公室和軍事處，呈現1860-1950年間英國對亞洲和中英關係的關注。記錄中英關係的演變，從鴉片戰爭、1899至1901年義和團起義的餘波，到第二次世界大戰中的中英合作關係。
(2) Missionary, Sinology, and Literary Periodicals, 1817–1949：收錄17種中國出版或關於中國的英文期刊，時間橫跨清朝末年至共和時期，涉及的背景歷史事件包括鴉片戰爭、太平天國運動、義和團起義、辛亥革命、抗日戰爭、國共內戰等，呈現中國知識份子和西方傳教士在中國歷史、文化、語言和文學之理解與研究。
試用日期：即日起至2024年6月30日止
2. Medici.tv：收錄1940年以來逾3,000部傑出音樂家、作曲家與著名樂團高畫質的之現場演出影片。
試用日期：即日起至2024年8月15日止

1. Description
(1) There are 2 sub-databases available for trial in China and the modern world.
l Diplomacy and Political Secrets, 1869–1950: Newly scanned records from the Political and Secret Department, the Burma Office (created as a separate entity in 1937) and the Military Department, covering British interests in Asia and Anglo-Chinese relations from 1860-1950. Through intelligence and diplomatic mission reports, correspondence, official diaries, memoranda, pamphlets, gazetteers and maps, this collection offers a panoramic insight into British interests in Inner (Central) and South East Asia in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, follows the relationship between China and Britain through major events from the aftermath of the Opium Wars, Boxer Rebellion of 1899-1901 to Sino-British cooperation in the Second World War.
l Missionary, Sinology, and Literary Periodicals, 1817–1949: A collection of 17 English-language periodicals published in, or about, China during a period of over 130 years, extending from 1817 until 1949 when the People's Republic of China was founded. This corresponds to the periods of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republican Era (1911-1949), when China experienced radical and often traumatic transformations from an inward-looking imperial dynasty into a globally engaged republic with modern approaches to politics, literature, education, public morality, and intellectual life.

(2) Medici.tv：A classical music digital channel, offering a catalogue of 1,400 programmes in video-on-demand, as well as 100 live concerts each year. Includes documentary and biographical films about classical music and musicians. Also includes a small number of dance films.
