Introduction to TOEFL iBT Writing:
This course teaches the basic skills needed to perform well on the writing sections of the TOEFL. It includes strategies for approaching the two types of writing tasks, essay organization, syntactic variety, concepts of good style, ways to avoid bad style, continuity and coherence, rhetorical schemes, note-taking during lectures, and variety of ideas, among many other specific pieces of advice for scoring well on the TOEFL. This course is an excellent precursor to the NTU Language Center’s full ten-week TOEFL Writing course.

This course is designed to prepare students for the IELTS speaking test. The goal is to introduce the main features through a considerable amount of speaking and listening practice, with an emphasis on understanding British English. My aim is to help students develop and improve their general English proficiency. At the end of the course they will become more self-confident and prepared when taking the IELTS speaking test.
