Self-powered Wireless Temperature Sensor with Piezoelectric Energy Harvester Fabricated with metal-MEMS Process

Internet of Things (IoT) is believed to be the next technology boom- the demand for wireless smart devices with sensors is growing rapidly. However, most wireless devices are powered by batteries, and therefore the reliability and performances of the device are limited by the use of batteries and battery lifetime.  Moreover, batteries containing toxic materials and can cause serious pollution if it is not recycled properly. The IoT devices in the future are expected to be environmental friendly and maintenance free.
